Privacy notice

How we handle your personal data under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

What we collect

When you register for World of Words Kuala Lumpur 2026 we collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the state and city you are based in, and the days you plan to attend. Depending on how you register we may also collect your organisation, your role, the subjects you teach, the names and roles of people in your delegation, your reasons for attending, and any dietary or access requirements you choose to share.

Why we collect it

  • To register you and issue your entry pass and QR code.
  • To check you in at the door and record attendance.
  • To contact you about the event, including any changes to the programme.
  • To plan capacity, catering and access arrangements.
  • To follow up if you told us you would like to speak, volunteer, sponsor or partner.
  • To send you occasional updates about the movement, but only if you opted in, and you can withdraw at any time.

Who can see it

Your details are visible to the World of Words Kuala Lumpur 2026 organising team. Check-in staff at the door see only your name, organisation and whether your pass is valid, not your contact details or the requirements you shared. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with partners or sponsors unless you have asked us to put you in touch.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and attendance records for as long as we need them to run the event and report on it, and to invite you to future editions if you opted in. You can ask us to delete your record at any time.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent. To do any of these, contact us and we will action your request.
